Definition
Adoption rate is a measure of the number of people who have adopted a technology, idea or product as a percentage of those who are exposed to it.
In the room
How the word shows up in a real conversation.
Two cofounders disagree until they define Adoption rate. Once they agree it means “The speed at which users or customers begin using a new product or service”, the argument becomes a decision.
Common mistake
Using Adoption rate as a label instead of a fact. If you cannot point to the evidence — a number, a customer, or a written assumption — you are using the word as jargon.
