Definition
Angel investors are high-net worth individuals who invest in startups for their ability to create innovative, successful business ideas. They usually invest small amounts of money and provide a great deal of guidance and expertise in exchange for a share of the company's stock.
In the room
How the word shows up in a real conversation.
A mentor asks, “What is your Angel network?” The useful answer is concrete: group of angel investors who collaborate to share deal flow, due diligence, and investment opportunities in startups. A slide title is not an answer.
Common mistake
Using Angel network as a label instead of a fact. If you cannot point to the evidence — a number, a customer, or a written assumption — you are using the word as jargon.
