A start-up is a newly created business venture that typically aims to develop a unique product or service in order to capitalize on a marketplace need. Start-ups are usually associated with entrepreneurial activity and are often funded by venture capital, angel investors, or crowd funding. Start-ups often have a short runway of time to either become profitable or find additional sources of funding in order to sustain operations.
